Worx 32-Volt GT2.0 String Trimmer/Edger/Mini-Mower Review

My Rating:

This 3-in-1 trimmer, edger, and mini-mower is great for almost any small yard project.

Each of the 3 main features that make up the WORX machine are made possible by the ergonomic and lightweight design. The rotating shaft and wheels make transitioning between these 3 features easy and quick.

The WORX 32-Volt GT2.0 String Trimmer/Edger/Mini-Mower takes trimming, edging, and mowing to a whole new level. You can do the work of three machines using only one. It may seem unlikely that a machine can successfully combine these 3 features in one machine, but this little baby does it.

I’ve haven’t had a chance yet to use this WORX machine but based on the countless reviews I’ve gone through; I’d say it’s a strong contender compared to other cordless trimmers. It may not be as heavy duty or as sturdy as other commercial style models, but this trimmer will get the job done.

Here are some features to consider when looking at this trimmer.

PROS

  • plus-circle
Easy storage: the shaft length is adjustable, and it easily hangs on the wall
  • plus-circle
Versatility: as stated in the name, this machine can do 3 jobs: trimming, edging, and mowing
  • plus-circle
Lightweight: weighs just a little over 6 lbs.

CONS

  • Short battery life: many reviews say that the battery stops working after 1 year
  • Struggles in thick lawn: not great for thicker grass/weeds
  • Minus Circle
Too Short: taller users report difficulties/discomfort because the shaft doesn’t extend far enough

  •  GT 2.0 offers a longer run time and more power to work through a yard

  • Converts to a precision edger or mini mower in seconds
  • Dual-positioned in-line rubberized wheels make the edging and mowing features easy
  • Lightweight body that only weighs about 6 lbs and is practically effortless to carry around
  • arrow-right
Full 90° head tilt to make trimming in those tights spaces easy with the wheels smoothly rolling along the edge
  • arrow-right
Comes with a 100% single line feed, so there’s no need to bump feed
  • arrow-right
Equipped with a spacer guard to protect your flowers, plants, and other fixtures that can be damaged with a trimmer

PRODUCT REVIEW

The WORX 32-Volt GT 2.0 String Trimmer/Edger/Mini-Mower with Tilting Head and Single Line Feed is a functional and feature-filled machine that is great for smaller yards. This is an impressive machine considering how lightweight it is and how small the battery/motor is.

Battery

The 32 Volt lithium-ion battery runs pretty well, but some users seem satisfied and others not as much. The battery life for a single use lasts between 30-45 min. This time frame seems to stay pretty consistent across all reviews. The two less than satisfied review topics I found about the battery was its 1 year life and 3 hour charge time.

Though the charge time is crazy long, I did see many reviews that said that the charge time shortens after the battery is broken in.

Line Feeding

The single line feeding spool seems to be both an upside and a downside of this machine. In one respect it’s inconvenient because it is a pain to deal with and is said not to unspool easily. However, the upside to the spool feature is that WORX will replace the spool for the lifetime of the machine, so the user doesn’t have to bother with respooling the line.

Side Note: though WORX replaces the spool, some reviews complain that the line is not wound correctly and gets caught so the user has to unwind and rewind the line before it can be used.

Edging & Mowing

This multi-use feature is one of the design qualities that make this machine so desirable. The dual-positioned in-line rubberized wheels make edging smooth and straight and assists in the mowing aspect as well. The wheels turn the machine into a mini mower and keep the already lightweight body even easier to manage. Also, it’s very easy to change the head position for each feature.

The shaft rotates a full 90˚ with ease, and the handles are also adjustable with user comfort in mind.

Overall, the edging and mowing features were received well by the reviewing community.

Power

The 32 Volt and GT 2.0 give this 3-in-1 trimmer, edger, mower an impressive amount of power for its size. Though users claim this machine does not work well in thicker brush or weeds, it works great for regular yard growth. As long as you don’t try to push the motor too hard, you will not have a problem with this machine.

All in all, it seems that almost everyone is happy with the power level of this machine.

THANKS FOR READING

This WORX 32-Volt GT2.0 String Trimmer/Edger/Mini-Mower with Tilting Head and Single Line Feed is a great little multi-tool for people who go into using it with realistic expectations.

Most consumers didn’t have much to complain about with this WORX trimmer, edger, mower combo. Besides the length, short run time, and life of the battery, there really wasn’t much negativity shown toward this machine.

To really drive my main point home about this machine, I’d just like to point again out that this machine is not a heavy duty, super powerful machine and if a user is willing to work with the power restrictions and a few other “shortcomings” this machine will work great.

If you give it a realistic chance, it may just surprise you!
